Job Descriptions 

Volunteers are so important to the Farm here are some openings we have!

Title: Tour Guides

Commitment Required: Can be on call or set days (typically 2 hour shifts during open hours)

Training Required: To complete an orientation session

Skills required: Be able to work independently and able to walk for an hour at a time

Title: Animal Feeding

Commitment required: Set shifts i.e. seasonal or on-going commitment to the same day and time each week

Training required: To complete an orientation session & access to feeding chart

Skills required: Be able to follow detailed feeding regimes and work independently.

Title: Office Assistant

Commitment required: Set days (typically 2 hour shifts during open hours)

Training required: To complete an orientation session

Skills required: Filing experience, basic technology skills (i.e. copier & laptop) and able to fold/cut etc..

Title: Farm Maintenance

Commitment required: Set days (typically 2 hour shifts during open hours)

Training required: To complete an orientation session

Skills required: Ability to lift heavier objects (i.e. bale of hay from storage to wheel barrow), some carpentry skills would be a bonus, able to rake, sweep and shovel snow.

Title: Animal Food Prep

Commitment required: Can be done at any time, suits flexible schedules

Training required: none

Skills required: Can pick up veggies from designated stores and chop them up at the farm

Title: Therapeutic Riding Program

Commitment required: Scheduled times

Training required: Extensive

Skills required: Be able to assist with lessons, muck and be able to up keep barn maintenance.

Title: Catering Volunteer

Commitment requirement: Seasonal depending on bookings

Training requirement: To complete an orientation session

Skills required: Assisting with food & beverage preparations and/or serving both at farm and off location.

Title: Garden Volunteer

Commitment requirement: Seasonal, flexible, preferably two hour shifts during open hours. 

Training requirement: To complete an orientation session

Skills required: Assisting with the market garden, watering, weeding, pruning.
