The History

Arion Therapeutic Farm is a 12.5-acre oasis nestled in its own valley and filled with up to 300 people per week. Historically, Arion has best been known for it’s therapeutic activities but 2016 is the launch of our newly expanded vision – A FARM THAT CATERS TO PEOPLE OF ALL AGES AND ABILITIES.

Founded in 2009 by Heather Henderson, Arion Therapeutic Farm was originally not a farm at all. In fact, it all began with a small therapeutic riding pilot project, advertised through the City of Kelowna’s recreation guide and staged on rented property with a couple of donated horses. By the following year, Heather was cutting a ribbon on the newly formed non-profit society, Arion Therapeutic Riding Association in East Kelowna and launching the epic journey to this magical haven. ATRA is now called the Riding Club and is still active, proudly situated in the middle of the grounds to offer equine therapy of all kinds.

2017 will remain a growth year for The Farm with the completion of the Creative Centre, which now hosts many activities, events and fun for all ages. The addition of organic gardens in the spring will supply a new market to serve the public, plus picnic areas, a playground, petting zoo and more to come, this is truly the place to take your family and remember what it’s like to be free among the animals and organic surroundings.
